8. TESSELLATIONS©

Tessellations of time and space, just like mazes, they mesmerize.
Escher’s fish can fly; Icarus defied, crazed in mackerel skies.
Waves “make toward polished stones,” and mosques flaunt dizzy domes,
Fugues flow, patterns aglow: life in honeycombs.

Break the waves with pearls of wakedness:
Scores with cymbal crash or blessed rests,
climbing spooling ceaseless time vortex.
Memory spikes and colors all.

Find the open door, swim the salty shore, time is all in your mind;
strains of melody, shades of ecstasy, all the senses entwined.
Lines of verse round eyes and lips will echo days you’re dealt,
you play you win you play you lose; sometimes you play the blues.

Break the waves with pearls of wakedness:
Scores with cymbal crash or blessed rests,
climbing spooling ceaseless time vortex.
Memory spikes and colors all.

May your bodies fit, tessellated bits, watching railroad ties, seconds clicking by;
open windows wide, pierce the scaly sides: moon though mackerel skies!
