Dancing on Water©
“impious hands rifling the bowels of mother earth,” John Milton
“I don’t deny climate change; it’s part of God’s plan.” John Kasich
Dancing on water while temperatures totter, oh, precious harmony!
Sea levels rising with men enterprising: scrying melody.
Pandora’s pandemic, our viral reverie.
Is hope now all but gone? Earth spins and waltzes on.
Thunder of calving while glaciers are halving, oh, fascinating sight!
Crashes resounding, the growling, the howling: groaning paradise?
Cracks formed by godly hands? Plans for the fall of man’s
stock market siren songs. Earth turns and waltzes on.
Nebulous ash plumes, marshes are now doomed, if only we could fly
to some other planet like some spatial gannet; we just multiply.
Algae will clog and bloom: the lethal swims that loom.
We made this fiery dawn. Earth burns and waltzes on.
Pristine white ice caps that slide off our old maps: oh, blind belief!
Searching for verses in biblical curses: such a slow reverie!
This revelation nearing of humankind and greed.
We soon will all be gone. Earth yawns and waltzes on.
